  • Supporting the NCICS project titled Advancing Research on Compounding Risk of Drought and Extreme Heat Events in the United States, developed by an interdisciplinary team composed of research meteorologists, an environmental epidemiologist, and graduate students.
  • Utilizing the United States Climate Reference Network (USCRN) to determine the frequency in which drought and heat waves co-occur in the United States over the last 10 years and how this co-occurrence impacts the severity along with longevity of these extreme events.
  • Examining the health implications (i.e., mortality and morbidity) of non-concurring heat waves and concurrening drought and heatwave events for North Carolina.

  • HIKING
    One of my goals is to see all the United States National Parks! So far I have been to Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, and the Great Smoky Mountains.
  • BAKING
    I love to experiment with recipes, especially those for different types of breads!
  • RECORD COLLECTING
    I'm always on the lookout for new vinyl to add to my ever-growing collection. The genre that I collect the most of is classic rock!
